The Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) construction/maintenance crews have completed construction of the Apple Valley Sewer Lift Station Rehabilitation Project.
This critical sewer lift station facility serves the residents of Apple Valley in Sonora. The rehabilitation project, which started in July 2020, includes adding one new sump, two new pumps, a new generator, a new building, and fence. The access road to the lift station is scheduled to be paved in May 2021 and a fence will be installed around the facility once the paving project is complete.
The Apple Valley Sewer Lift Station is located next to Chicken Creek which has flooded the pump station in past severe storm events. In 2018, a severe storm event occurred causing three feet of water to flow through the building and severely damaging several pumps, a generator and the fence surrounding the pump station.
