The Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) is excited to announce the construction of a new water storage tank as part of the Mono Vista Tank Replacement Project. The existing 400,000 gallon Mono Vista Water Tank in Sonora is in poor condition with severe corrosion on the interior of the tank. The roof of the tank has also been determined to be no longer safe to access. The Replacement Project entails the demolition of the existing water storage tank and the construction of a new 400,000 gallon bolted steel water storage tank. The Mono Vista Tank is a key component of the District’s distribution system, storing and distributing water in three different directions.
The District received two bids for the project and the TUD Board awarded the project to Njirich & Sons, Inc. in the amount of $811,989.33 in June 2019. The project contractors have started the Mono Vista Replacement Project and anticipates completing the project by January 2020, weather permitting.
