Job Openings

Under direct supervision, works as a member of a crew to efficiently and productively perform a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair work on the water distribution system and other facilities; performs other related work as required. Hard manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions.

Temporary assignment for approximately three months starting in March through June 2022. Temporary/seasonal workers with good performance may be called back for additional temporary assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable by the District to operate District vehicles.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment selection process, background investigation, reference checks, post-offer physical and drug screening.
  • Employment application must be filled out accurately and completely in order to be considered.

Work Hours:

7:00 a.m. to 3:30  p.m.; Monday through Friday. Also requires overtime and weekend work.  Subject to change, as required to meet the needs of the District. 

Hourly Wage: $20.30

General Description:
Under supervision, performs technical field and office duties supporting the Engineering Department activities related to the planning, design, bidding, construction, installation, maintenance, and inspection including other activities such as surveying, drafting, mapping, researching real property interests and related activities.

The ideal candidate is a team player and reliable employee having 2+ years of recent, progressively responsible experience performing similar duties, especially in drafting and inspection, is comfortable working in both office and field settings, and has the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of professionals. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications below may also be considered.

Education/Certification/License/Experience:
For Engineering Technician 1
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent, including drafting courses or demonstrated ability or aptitude to learn AutoCAD. Equivalent to completion of an Associate degree, with course work in mathematics, AutoCAD, GIS, engineering or related field is preferred.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
• Two years’ experience performing similar technical engineering or construction related duties.

For Engineering Technician 2
In addition to the qualifications above, the Engineering Technician 2:
• Two years’ responsible experience similar to Engineering Technician 1 with the Tuolumne Utilities District.
