UTILITY WORKER POSITIONS
This opportunity is for full-time Utility Worker positions within the Operations Department. Initial placement in the water distribution or wastewater collections divisions will be based on the selected candidates’ qualifications.
Utility Workers perform a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair work on water and wastewater distribution, collection, treatment and disposal systems and facilities; assist in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must possess or obtain a Water Distribution or Collections System Maintenance certification within required, specific timeframe. *
• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL, or obtain within a required, specific timeframe, and have a satisfactory driving record. *
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and have relevant experience related to underground and above ground construction, working on installation, testing, maintenance and repair of pipelines and facilities.
• Must successfully pass post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen.
*Dependent upon assignment to division within the operations department.
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; five consecutive workdays as assigned (may include one weekend day) with two consecutive days off, holidays, overtime and/or alternate schedule when required to meet the needs of the District. Must participate in the on-call standby rotation on a regular basis; therefore, must reside within an 18-mi radius of the District’s main facility.
Hourly Pay Range: $21.46 – $26.08 plus excellent benefits!

This is a Non-Exempt position. Under general supervision from the District Engineer, performs all aspects of professional land surveying to include mapping, legal descriptions and drawings for the planning, construction and maintenance of proposed and existing District facilities. Works directly with engineers, planners, construction personnel and other partners in assessing project needs. Performs other related work as required.
Education and Certification Requirements:
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED), including drafting courses.
-Possess and maintain a valid California Land Surveyor’s license issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
-Valid California Class C driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.
-Current registration as a California Notary Public or become registered within six months of hire.
Four years minimum experience performing duties related to surveying and boundary determination at a professional land surveyors level, drafting, mapping, title search, and related design or survey work. College education in the areas specified above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to three years for any deficiencies in the required experience as determined by the District.
Hourly Pay Range: $37.30 – $45.35 plus excellent benefits!
