Water Treatment Plant Operator (OIT, 1,2,3)
Under direct or general supervision of the Water Operations Superintendent or Water Foreman, operates, repairs and maintains the District’s water treatment facilities, including water treatment and distribution systems; reads and interprets charts and meter readings for analyzing the efficiency of plant operations; maintain chemical inventory; and performs other related work as required.

6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 4/10 schedule including one weekend day. Also requires after hours, weekends and holidays. Schedule subject to change as required, to meet the needs of the District.

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of construction, maintenance and repair work on water and wastewater distribution, collection, treatment and disposal systems and facilities. Assists and performs work in the installation, maintenance and repair of water and sewer pipelines, services, and appurtenances, fire hydrants, and other District facilities. Performs other related work as required.

Drug/Alcohol Testing: This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing requirements of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991, under the administration of the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT).
Experience: Experience in underground and above ground construction, working on installation, testing, maintenance and repair of pipelines and facilities.
Work Hours:
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; five consecutive workdays. Subject to change, as required to meet the needs of the District. Must be willing to work holidays, overtime and/or alternate schedule when required. Utility Worker 2 and higher is required to participate in the on-call standby rotation on a regular basis.
