TUD Issues Boil Water Advisory for Upper Basin Customers

TUD Boil Water Advisory

UPDATE: JANUARY 04, 2023, 3:00 p.m.

It has been determined that the low pressure in the system was caused by a water main line break near Sullivan Creek on South Fork Rd. causing the Lakewood Water Tank to drain.  The repair has been completed and the line is being flushed.  Once flushing is complete, water quality samples will be taken later this evening.  The District anticipates being able to lift the Boil Water Advisory once all samples have passed safety standards, sometime Friday, January 6th, 2023.

SONORA, CA:  The Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) is issuing a Boil Water Advisory to notify customers who receive water from the Upper Basin- Lakewood Water Treatment Plant that they may be impacted. Due to a recent loss of pressure in an isolated section of the water distribution system, which occurred this evening, TUD is issuing a Boil Water Advisory to certain customers in the Brentwood area. The water main pipelines are experiencing low pressure and crews are in the process of investigating the cause.

Please follow Boil Water Instructions when using your tap water for safe drinking and cooking by clicking the following link: https://www.cdc.gov/…/fact-sheet-about-what-to-do…

When testing indicates the water is safe to drink without boiling, the District will lift the Boil Water Notice Advisory. Please visit www.tudwater.com for updates.
