Dahlin Appointed Board Member
SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) Board of Directors selected Dennis Dahlin, a local realtor, as a new Board member at a special Board meeting that was held last night.
Three other applicants applied for the position that was left vacant when a Board member resigned from his position on March 14, 2012. The other applicants for consideration were James Grinnell, a retired Sonora businessman; John Maciel, a retired Twain Harte resident and Carl Tucker a retired engineer of Sonora.
During his presentation before the Board, Dahlin expressed an interest in bringing “balance” to the District. He has served on many governing Board’s and has owned multiple businesses throughout Tuolumne County.
The Tuolumne Utilities District currently serves over 44,000 Tuolumne County residents. The District currently owns and operates 14 water treatment plants, 71 treated water storage tanks, two wastewater treatment plants, approximately 57 miles of open ditches, 157 miles of sewer collection pipe and 330 miles of treated water pipeline.
