FALL DITCH OUTAGE TO BEGIN OCTOBER 11, 2026

PG&E PLANS SAFETY REPAIRS TO MAIN TUOLUMNE CANAL – TUD CUSTOMERS ASKED TO CONSERVE WATER

SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) partner Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will be making safety repairs and conducting maintenance on flume sections of the Main Tuolumne Canal in October. While the repairs are being made on the main canal, water from the Lyons Reservoir serving the TUD system will be shut off from Sunday, October 11th through Sunday, October 18th, 2026, with some areas being affected until October 21st. During this time, PG&E and TUD are asking area residents to conserve water. During the repair period, water will not be flowing in the ditches, and the water supply will come from storage tanks and limited capacity groundwater wells. Conservation during this period is necessary to ensure adequate water supply for drinking, sanitary usage and fire protection.

Here’s how you can help:
– Limit outside watering
– Do not wash vehicles
– Turn off automatic lawn and drip sprinkler timers
– Repair water leaks

TUD requests that all customers continue to conserve for one additional week after the outage for the water storage supply to recover.
