We apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely thank you for your continued support during this paving project.
UPDATE, MONDAY, AUGUST 15, 2022- Tuolumne Utilities District remains optimistic that its paving project on Phoenix Lake Rd. can be completed on or before August 19, despite it being a “rough road” to completion.

UPDATE, WEDNESDAY, JULY 27, 2022– Paving on Phoenix Lake Rd. will begin on August 8, 2022 and will continue through August 19th, 2022.
SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District has replaced over 6,000 feet of 8-inch water mainline on Phoenix Lake Road as part of the Ridgewood Pipeline Project and will begin paving the disturbed section of road in early July.
The Ridgewood Pipeline Project will consolidate the Scenic View and Phoenix Lake Park Water Systems with the District’s Upper Basin Water System and will increase the water flow capacity and efficiency in the distribution system, improving water quality and reducing costs associated with operations and maintenance.
Now that the new water line has been installed, the disturbed section of the road can be paved. The TUD Board of Directors is scheduled to award the paving contract at its regular board meeting on Tuesday, June 28th and paving is expected to begin shortly after and be completed in July.
TUD would like to thank travelers in the area for their patience and cooperation. Please continue to drive with caution through the project work area.
