TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Temporary Road Closure on Ridgewood Rd. for Ridgewood Water Transmission Line Improvement Project 

SONORA, CA:  Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) crews are scheduled to install a new water mainline along Ridgewood Dr. for the second phase of the Ridgewood Water Transmission Line Improvement Project. Work is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 7, 2023, and will take place between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday- Friday.  Work is expected to be completed by May 5, 2023.

During this time, there will be road closures on and around Ridgewood Drive.  One-way traffic controls will be in place in certain locations, and some locations may have full road closures with detours in place.  Travelers can expect up to 15-minute delays. Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

Once completed, the Ridgewood Water Transmission Line Improvement Project will consolidate the Scenic View Water Treatment Plant with the Phoenix Lake Water Treatment plant, allowing the District to eliminate two water tanks that are in poor and failing condition, consolidate two water treatment plants and four pump stations providing significant savings in operation costs.  The project includes the installation of approximately 13,000 lineal feet of 8-inch pipeline.  The first phase of the project from Meadow Brook Drive to Resort Rd. was completed last summer.  This is the second and final phase and once completed, this project will reduce future operational and maintenance costs for the District and its rate payers.
