SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) has scheduled its annual sanitary sewer collection system flushing program for the downtown Sonora area next week. Sanitary sewer flushing is a common maintenance activity used to improve pipe flow.
While TUD maintenance crews are flushing, you may expect intermittent traffic delays in the downtown Sonora area between the hours of 11pm to 7:30am from Sunday, May 6th until Friday, May 11th at 7:30am. The Tuolumne Utilities District currently serves over 44,000 Tuolumne County residents. The District currently owns and operates 14 water treatment plants, 81 treated water storage tanks, two wastewater treatment plants, approximately 57 miles of open ditches, 157 miles of sewer collection pipe and 330 miles of treated water pipeline.
