TRAFFIC ADVISORY: MIDDLE CAMP RD.

Techite Pipeline laying on the ground

TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2024

SONORA, CA:  Tuolumne Utilities District’s (TUD) contractor, D.A. Wood, will be performing tree removal on Middle Camp Rd., approximately 0.3 miles east of Longeway Rd. on Wednesday, June 26th continuing through Friday, June 28th.  Work will take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.   During this time, single lane traffic control will be used on a 100 ft. section of Middle Camp Rd.  to allow for safe tree removal.  Motorists can expect up to 10-minute delays and are advised to drive with caution.

The tree removal is part of an ongoing project that replaces the final 4,000 feet of Techite water line with a new 12-inch PVC main water line.  Techite pipeline is inherited pipeline that is outdated and notably brittle, making it highly prone to sudden and significant breaks.  These ruptures lead to considerable water loss and can cause extensive damage.  To learn more about this project and other TUD Capital Improvement Projects, please visit Capital Improvement Plan and Rates – TUD (tudwater.com).

Tuolumne Utilities District appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure project.
