SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District celebrates 30 years of providing our customers with safe, reliable drinking water and responsible wastewater services with outstanding customer service. As the District looks forward to 2023, we also take time to reflect on our history. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the formation of Tuolumne Utilities District which was created in 1992 when voters approved a water agency merger. Through its history, the water system has changed from serving mainly mining operations in the 1800’s to serving residential and commercial needs of the County. TUD and its predecessors have a long history that demonstrates its ability to serve the public and meet its changing needs. Over the last three decades, the District has proven resilient in the face of adversity, managing to make significant progress despite many challenges. Through hard work, commitment, and dedication, the District has made significant infrastructure improvements and taken great strides in increasing our adaptability and efficiency to best serve our customers and Tuolumne County.
As the District looks forward to the new year and beyond, we will continue to build on our momentum and seek ways to improve infrastructure, protect our local watershed, and pursue steps to better prepare for our future. We remain committed in our pursuit of projects that enable the capture and storage of water and continue to invest in innovative solutions to improve the District’s water supply.
The District is pleased to celebrate this special milestone and thanks our customers and community partners for 30 great years. Here’s to our continued success!
