Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) is proud to recognize its dedicated employees during California’s annual Water Professionals Appreciation Week, October 3-11, 2026.

Established in 2017 through Senate Concurrent Resolution 80 (SCR 80), Water Professionals Appreciation Week celebrates the thousands of skilled individuals who work every day to provide safe, reliable water and wastewater services throughout California. The statewide observance, sponsored by a coalition of water organizations led by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), takes place each year during the first full week of October.

The water industry offers diverse and rewarding career opportunities spanning water and wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, construction, engineering, environmental sciences, finance, communications, business administration, and many other fields. These professionals play a critical role in protecting public health, supporting local economies, and safeguarding environmental resources.

At TUD, more than 80 employees work around the clock to deliver high-quality water and wastewater services to the communities of Tuolumne County. Whether maintaining infrastructure, responding to emergencies, ensuring regulatory compliance, or serving customers, their expertise and commitment help keep essential services running every day.

The District extends its sincere gratitude to all water and wastewater professionals whose dedication makes these vital services possible. In recognition of their contributions, the TUD Board of Directors will adopt a resolution proclaiming October 3-11, 2026, as Water Professionals Appreciation Week at its September 22, 2026, Board meeting.
