Temporary Road Closure in Crystal Falls for Emergency Mainline Repair

UPDATE: As of Friday evening, the repair was completed and customer water services were restored. A big thank you to our field crews for the hard work and long hours.

SONORA, CA: Tuolumne Utilities District’s (TUD) would like to inform the public that due to an emergency water mainline repair, there will be a temporary road closure today, March 3, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Middlecamp Rd. from Nile River Dr. to Hawk Ln.  The road will be closed to through traffic but accessible to homeowners in that area.  During the repair, motorists are advised to proceed with caution and take an alternative route.

TUD was notified of the mainline break earlier in the week which was a result of heavy snow uprooting a large tree, tearing approximately 60 feet of water pipe out of the ground, and breaking the pipe in half.  Crews were unable to access or repair the leak until recently due to downed powerlines and restricted road access.
