The Valley Vista Water Storage Tank Project was completed to improve water system reliability, increase fire protection capacity, and support future growth in the Jamestown area. Working in partnership with the Valley Vista development, Tuolumne Utilities District constructed a 500,000-gallon welded steel water storage tank, substantially increasing capacity beyond the 230,000-gallon tank originally required for the development. The project included construction of the tank foundation, coatings, cathodic protection systems, erosion control measures, and associated infrastructure.
The completed tank enhances operational resiliency by allowing TUD to backfeed the Jamestown water system, maintain adequate storage during peak demand periods, and keep existing storage facilities in service while performing maintenance on other tanks. Serving the Valley Vista community and the broader Jamestown area, the project strengthened water supply reliability, improved fire flow availability, and expanded long-term infrastructure capacity for current and future customers.
